Petoskey Youth Soccer Association

Petoskey Youth Soccer Association is proud to offer high-quality soccer programs year-round to our area youth. Whether just starting out in the game, or a highly developed player looking for advanced training, PYSA has something for you! Here are details on our various programs:

Offered Programs

PYSA Shooting Stars & Future Stars (DK, Kindergarten - 2nd Grade)
Each winter, PYSA offers a series of Saturday morning sessions catered to our future players! Boys and girls between Pre-K and 2nd grade are invited to participate in a fun-filled environment designed to keep kids active! Tag games and races are incorporated with very basic soccer skills to help introduce players to the game.  Learn more.

Petoskey Parks and Recreational (k-2nd grade):
The primary objective of the Recreational program is to enable players to learn the game of soccer in a fun and stimulating environment. The focus is on developing their skills to help them be the best soccer players they can be, while maintaining a healthy approach to competitive soccer. All games and practices take place at the PYSA Click Road Soccer Complex or River Road Sports Complex during the week days. Learn more at Petoskey Parks and Rec.

PYSA U10 Boys and Girls Developmental Program:
The U10 Academy is open to all boys and girls ages 8-10 years old that would like to take the next step in competitive soccer. Led by our Developmental Director, the focus for the Developmental Program is to develop foot skills and playing formations beyond what you would with the Parks and Rec program. Practices take place at the Click Road Soccer Complex and teams compete in the Northern Michigan Soccer Alliance League (NMSA) with games played on weekends in neighboring communities. Girls play on Saturdays, Boys play on Sundays. Learn more

PYSA U11 through U14 Teams:
After the developmental program, teams form based on birth years. The soccer atmosphere for games and practices becomes more exclusive at this level and it is extremely important for players to master the skills and fundamentals needed to progress in select soccer at the older ages. Practices are twice a week and teams will compete in the Northern Michigan Soccer Alliance League (NMSA) with games played on weekends in neighboring communities. Girls play on Saturdays, Boys play on Sundays.

PYSA Petoskey Breakers:
Set up for all girls attending high school at a public, private, or home setting. The team competes in the Michigan State Premier League or as a tournament team during the Fall season. This program is set up to compete against other teams from the Detroit metro area, Mid-Michigan, and greater Lansing and Grand Rapids areas. Practices will be three times a week August through early October, and games take place on the weekends.

PYSA Petoskey Lakers:
Set up for all boys attending high school at a public, private, or home setting. The team competes in the Michigan State Premier League during the Spring season. This program is set up to compete against other teams from the Detroit metro area, Mid-Michigan, and greater Lansing and Grand Rapids areas. Practices will be three times a week early April through our June tournament, games take place on the weekends with half of the games scheduled at home and half away.

PYSA Winter Training
All PYSA players are afforded a once-weekly training opportunity in the winter, February-March. These sessions are not mandatory (we know players may have winter conflicts), but are a great and unique opportunity to continue developing skills for the game. One of the truly unique benefits of PYSA membership is the ability to access the game year-round in a quality training environment. These indoor sessions are typically played at North Central Michigan College.
