Tryout Registration

June tryouts TBD

Tryouts held at Click Road Soccer Complex for PYSA's Premier Lakers teams for the Fall 2024 MSPSP League.

GAME/TOURNAMENT PLAY

All of our premier teams participate in the Michigan State Premier Soccer Program (MSPSP) each spring, unless a tournament team is decided upon. League play typically consists of a 10-team division, meaning 4-5 away games and 4-5 home games. Schedules are not finalized until late February-early March so exact travel commitments will not be known until that time. Most of our fellow MSPSP participants are located in the SE part of the state (Metro Detroit), however, we have seen teams from Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Bay City/Midland area in recent years.

While it is not possible to fully forecast travel, it is reasonable to expect at least two weekends of travel. We will do our best to play multiple games in a single weekend, but this relies on our opponents being able to host us in that manner.

Beyond MSPSP, Premier teams will also participate in the Petoskey Autumn Blast and those not in Varsity high school seasons will play in the Petoskey Fresh Coast Classic.

TRAINING

Premier teams  will practice two or three times per week in a 60-90 minute session. Exact nights & times will be determined after team formations.

PLAYING FOR THE PREMIER TEAMS

It is important that all players trying out for the Premier team(s) understand that this is a premier soccer program, meaning roster decisions, playing time, and coaching decisions will be merit-based. Equal playing time is not assured. While PYSA does understand there are meaningful costs and travel required for Breakers participation, this still does not guarantee a specific number of minutes for a player during games. The one thing each participant can count on is the opportunity to be fairly evaluated in a competitive environment throughout season. Players experience on the field will correspond with their commitment, performance, and effort.
