Fan's Code of Conduct

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Dear PYSA families,
We are well into another exciting fall soccer season at PYSA. I would like to first take a moment to thank you all for your help in putting on another successful Autumn Blast tournament a few weeks ago! The success of these tournaments every year is the result of your time, dedication, and hard work at Click road.

The game of soccer is unique as it brings together players and adults to enjoy a competitive fast paced and at time physically challenging game. With that can bring on some strong emotions. We ask that our membership follow our Code of Conduct that is posted at Click road, whether you are playing games at home or away. Please refrain from yelling at the referees, athletes, coaches, or the opposing team. PYSA does not support this type of behavior from Coaches, players, or parents. I am asking you all to read the Fan’s Code of Conduct again and familiarize yourself with what we expect from you.

Please take into specific consideration that referees are human and will make mistakes. They will miss some calls on the field, but at no time is it okay to argue with or harass them. There is a severe referee shortage across the state, and we are seeing a specific impact here in Northern Michigan. PYSA asks that you treat all referees with respect. We need to attract and retain their services to keep the game thriving in our area in the years to come! Please demonstrate the type of behavior that you in return would want to receive.

Fan Code of Conduct
· We appreciate your attendance at our youth event.
· Our participants need your positive support and encouragement.
· Please show kindness and respect in your words and actions toward coaches, players, officials, and fans.
· Please encourage those around you to be kind and respectful.

For your safety and enjoyment of everyone we that you refrain from:
· Yelling at officials, coaches, fans, or athletes
· Commenting on referee’s calls
· Verbally abusing referee
· Profanity
· Name calling
· Violent behavior
· Coaching from the sidelines

I ask that you demonstrate sportsmanship and respect to all players, coaches, referees, and game officials. Remember it is just a game. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their season. Good luck in your remaining games and thank you for setting a positive standard as a member of PYSA.

Best Regards,
Karen Flynn
